About us

We are a group of young adults from across Tower Hamlets and Newham, we have all come together to become active members of a youth-led initiative for young leaders, we have now formed as a constituted group, and named ourselves Leaders in Community. We are a team of 20 aged 18-25 and have been working together on a voluntary basis since 2006 to establish a youth-led voluntary organization that empowers young people in leadership and governance through creativity.

Leaders in Community is now a successful youth-led organisation, and we have built partnerships with key organisations such as PoplarHarca, London borough of Tower Hamlets, Isle Of Dog Community Foundation (IDCF), Capital commitment Fund, and the Council for ethnic minority voluntary organisation (CEMVO), who have all supported our development as we continue..

Our mission is to become the driving force that will enable and empower young people to take up leadership and management roles in decision-making structures in our local communities.We want our voices to be heard and counted in structures such as Local Area Partnerships, Housing Estate Boards, Regeneration Boards and others.
